Thomas Cuccia

Thomas brings more than 28 years of experience as a valuation specialist, with his areas of expertise including financial valuation, transaction advisory services and litigation support. He has presented nationally on the topic of health care valuation and has authored numerous articles about health care business and physician compensation valuation.

Thomas’s health care valuation experience ranges from the valuation of small physician practices, multispecialty practices with over 100 doctors and single-specialty medical practices, including the ancillary services provided by these practices. Additionally, he has valued hospitals, accountable care organizations, surgery and imaging centers, dialysis centers, independent practice associations and rehabilitative service facilities.

His compensation valuation experience includes providing opinions for medical directors, call coverage, employment agreements, physician service agreements, bundled payments and clinical comanagement agreements. He has also valued equipment and space leases and has completed less traditional projects, such as determining work relative value units for nonlisted stereotactic procedures. Additionally, he has provided due diligence services to health care providers related to market size, the associated costs, the feasibility of market entry, and expected revenues and return on investment.

Prior to joining Sg2, Thomas was the managing director of Sinaiko Healthcare Consulting’s Valuation and Transaction Advisory Group where he led a team of valuation professionals providing services to some of the largest health care systems and health care law firms in the United States.

Thomas earned his international masters of business administration with an emphasis in finance from the University of Denver. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) with the American Society of Appraisers. Thomas also completed the ASA’s specialized Healthcare Valuation Program.

As of February 11, 2016, Vizient, Inc. has completed its purchase of MedAssets Sg2 and spend and clinical resource management segments from Pamplona Capital Management, LLC. MedAssets revenue cycle business will continue to operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pamplona Capital Management LLP.
