Sg2 Appoints Eric Louie as Chief Medical Officer
SKOKIE, IL–(Marketwire – Jan 23, 2012) – Sg2, a health care intelligence, analytics, and consulting company, today announced the appointment of Eric Louie, MD, FACP, FACC, MBA as chief medical officer. With over 15 years of experience, Louie will work closely with Sg2’s clients to introduce and implement Sg2’s latest analyses and insights, ultimately enabling health care organizations to build a competitive value-driven strategy for success today and in the future.
Louie joined Sg2 in 2004 leading strategic planning, forecasting, program optimization and facility design projects for Sg2 consulting customers. In addition, he contributed to the thought leadership of Sg2’s Cardiovascular and International teams. He has worked with a wide range of domestic and international customers, including academic medical centers, integrated health care delivery networks, ambulatory health care systems, medical device companies, professional medical societies and governmental payers. His customers have ranged from complex urban health care institutions to rural critical access hospitals.

Louie has more than 15 years of experience as a clinical cardiologist on the faculties of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, University of Illinois and Loyola University Chicago. While a tenured professor of medicine at Loyola, he served as the associate director of the cardiology division. Louie has also led strategy engagements for ZS Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in pharmaceutical sales force and marketing strategies. Before joining Sg2, he directed the medicine and neurology service lines of the Edward Hines Jr VA Hospital in Hines, IL.
After receiving his AB, summa cum laude, in biochemical sciences from Harvard College, Louie completed his MD at Harvard Medical School. He trained in internal medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, in cardiovascular diseases at the University of Chicago and in cardiovascular imaging research at the National Institutes of Health. He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases and holds fellowships in the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, the Council on Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association and the Royal Society of Medicine in London. In 2001, Louie completed his MBA at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
