Karyl is a health care strategy expert and leader at Sg2, where she partners with members to navigate the complexities of a rapidly evolving health care landscape. Her work focuses on strategic prioritization, forecasting future trends in care delivery, and analyzing inpatient and outpatient utilization data to generate actionable insights. Through her leadership, she helps health systems make informed, forward-looking decisions to drive sustainable growth.

At Sg2, Karyl contributes to the development of strategic intelligence through webinars, member briefings and customized analytic insights. She also coleads the design and advancement of the Sg2 Impact of Change® forecasting engine, which projects 10-year demand for health care services across sites of care. Among her notable contributions is the launch of the hyperlocalization enhancement, a feature that enables clients to adapt national forecast trends to their unique market dynamics.

Before joining Sg2, Karyl worked with an early-stage biotech start-up, developing go-to- market strategies for a microbial air sampler designed to detect airborne pathogens in hospital environments. Her interdisciplinary background informs her strategic approach, blending scientific expertise with deep market insight.

Karyl earned a PhD in microbiology and an AB in physics from the University of Chicago, where she currently serves as president of the Medical and Biological Sciences Alumni Association.
